Remember those grainy Instagram shots of supermodel Karlie Kloss and Daft Punk that did the rounds last month? Well, now we know just what the music duo and model-of-the-moment were up to
It was not, as rumoured, a video shoot for their next single, or indeed an ad campaign; it was in fact a fashion shoot for US Vogue .

The helmeted men-of-the-moment can be seen on the pages of the August issue of the fashion bible in an editorial dedicated to 'Inspired New Eveningwear'.
Admittedly, Kloss does most of the work in pieces by ChloƩ, McQueen, Givenchy, and Gucci, while the Daft Punk Boys frame her in their signature Hedi Slimane for Saint Laurent suits (Slimane has created all of their outfits since they first met over a decade ago) and silver and gold helmets and gloves.

In the short accompanying interview, the French musicians - Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo - reveal that Slimane was one of the first people to hear their number one album, Random Access Memories.
It's fair to say that Slimane's touch has made them a whole lot cooler in the fashion stakes, proof of which can be found in Daft Punk's pre-Slimane 2001 Gap commercial…

The August issue is available now as a digital download for the iPad, Kindle Fire,NOOK Color, and NOOK Tablet.
