FANTASY CASTING THE DISNEY CHANNEL’S ‘DESCENDENTS’

FANTASY CASTING THE DISNEY CHANNEL’S ‘DESCENDENTS’

When Disney announced the live-action TV movie Descendents that would premiere on The Disney Channel in 2015, we were hesitant. The film will follow the children of classic Disney characters, especially the kids of some famous villains. It’s already been announced that Disney star Dove Cameron will play Mal, the daughter of Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty). More recently, Mitchell Hope was announced to play the prince who is the son of Belle and Adam (Beauty and the Beast). However, since he’s not a Disney Channel star, we’re still going to fantasy cast his character. Here are our choices for the Prince and the rest of the gang.
The Prince, son of Belle and Adam – Billy Unger
Our choice for the prince is the charming star of Lab Rats, currently airing on Disney XD. We’re pretty proud of this choice since Disney’s pick, Hope, has a similar look to Unger so we must have a good idea of what they’re looking for.
Carlos, son of Cruella de Vil – Adam Irigoyen
As a veteran of The Disney Channel — Irigoyen has been on Wizards of Waverly PlaceGood Luck Charlie, and Shake It Up! — we think he’ll make a perfect addition to the cast. Plus there’s something in Irigoyen’s eyebrows that reminds us a little bit of Cruella (in a good way!)
Jay, son of Jafar – Blake Michael
Since he’s currently starring on Dog with a Blog as the dopey teenaged son, we think he could stretch his acting muscles by playing the brooding, calculating teenaged son of Jafar — or the son who’s especially nice despite his evil father. Michael could take the character either way, which is why we think he’d be perfect.
Evvie, daughter of the Evil Queen – Ariel Winter
Though you probably recognize Winter as Alex Dunphy from Modern Family, she also voices Sofia on Disney’s Sofia the First. It might be a bit too much of a crossover for her to play Evvie, but we think she can pull it off. Besides, it would be interesting to see her star aside Dove Cameron as the two daughters of villains.

How To Keep Your Child Quiet During Church, Weddings, And Any Other Public Event

How To Keep Your Child Quiet

The first five years of motherhood can have a variety of names. I particularly enjoy “The Time Of Isolation.” Or maybe “The Era Of The Cry Room.” How about “The ‘We’d Better Stay Home’ Period? Let’s face it, for the first couple years, many moms would rather miss their second cousin’s wedding than actually try to control their children in public. We think of it as a public service. We’re saving everyone at Church or at a play from hearing our chattering little monkey.
Unfortunately, sometimes an event rolls around that you simply can’t miss. My husband’s family attends the Holy Days of Obligation together, little ones and all. Even better, we attend Mass in a Church so small that it doesn’t have a cry room. There’s one big chapel and an entrance big enough to hold exactly two parents and two wailing infants. I know this because it’s constantly full.
No joke, I spent two hours on Christmas Eve sitting in the car with my daughter while everyone else received the Sacrament. See, my little girl had realized that the tall ceilings made her voice echo. Echos are irresistible to two year olds. By the time my husband made it to the car, I had run out the battery. Merry Christmas to all.
This weekend, my daughter is the flower girl in a wedding. Honestly, I’m not too worried about her walking down the aisle. She’s always kind of enjoyed being the center of attention. What little girl doesn’t enjoy 400 people collectively adoring her?
My concern is for the actual ceremony that will follow her petal-strewing obligations. How am I going to keep her quiet for the next hour? Of course she knows how to behave in public. Of course she’s capable of sitting still when the situation calls for it. But let’s face it, even the most well-behaved children slip up!
Parents need to be prepared. Here’s how I attempt to make it through graduations, ballet performances, weddings and even the occasional Mass.
What’s your secret? How do you keep your kids from making a scene in a quiet ceremony?

Ke$ha: 'I Was Born With A Tail'

Ke$ha: 'I Was Born With A Tail'

Outlandish singer Ke$ha has revealed she was born with a "tiny tail."

The 26 year-old pop star had a bone sticking out of her back that resembled an animal's tail when she was a baby, but surgeons removed the appendage.

She tells Britain's Heat magazine, "I had a tail when I was born. It was a tiny tail, about a quarter of an inch, then they chopped it off and stole my tail. That was when I was little. I'm really sad about that story."

Ke$ha admits she has grown to embrace her physical flaws, adding, "There are tons of things (I dislike about my body) but I'm at that point right now where I'm trying to accept every little bit of me. Trust me, I don't have the perfect body, but I don't have anything else to work with, so I might as well accept it."

Oprah Winfrey: 'You Cannot Be My Friend And Use The N-Word'

Oprah Winfrey: 'You Cannot Be My Friend And Use The N-Word'

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey has warned pal Lee Daniels to stop using the N-word, telling him that if he keeps it up they can't be friends.

Daniels, Winfrey and Forest Whitaker sat down with Parade magazine to discuss their upcoming film The Butler, which chronicles the Civil Rights movement through the eyes of White House butler Cecil Gaines (Whitaker), who served under seven presidents.

During the chat, Daniels said that he's used the word often in the past, but Oprah set him straight.

“It’s a word I used quite a bit," Daniels tells Parade, "until Oprah sat me down and talked to me about its power."

"You cannot be my friend and use that word around me," the TV mogul added. "It shows my age, but I feel strongly about it... I always think of the millions of people who heard that as their last word as they were hanging from a tree."

Daniels, who has since stopped using the word, claims he still experiences racism on a daily basis in New York City.

"It’s a given. I can’t even get a taxi. I send my [white] assistant out to get a taxi because I can’t," he says.

Whitaker, who "never did" use the term, says he's experienced plenty of racist moments in his life also.

"I’ve had many incidents in my life of racism. I’ve been thrown on the ground. I’ve been frisked. I’ve been arrested so many times I couldn’t tell you. I have no need to talk about it," he says.

"If you can’t accept that these things are going on, you’re living an illusion."

Winfrey added that people "need to see" the movie because the youth of today know "diddly-squat" about the civil rights movement.

The director is hoping for a PG-13 rating so more people can be exposed to the film's message. "Lee Daniels' The Butler" opens in theaters August 16.

Taylor Swift Contest Canceled After 39-Year-Old Man Wins

Taylor Swift
A Boston radio station was forced to cancel a contest to meet Taylor Swift after a middle-aged man won.

Kiss 108 was hoping to make dreams come true for a Swift fan in New England, but they made the mistake of using online votes to decide a winner for their contest. Naturally, websites began to campaign for the most awkward winner to meet the pop star.

A 39-year-old man grabbed votes from 4chan and Reddit users looking to have some fun with the contest, after the fellow said he wanted to smell Swift's hair.
The radio station ultimately took action, posting on the "Taylor Swift's Biggest ...

Progressive Themes To Keep Pop Music Fresh

Progressive Themes To Keep Pop Music Fresh

Wiz KhalifaThe acceptance of formerly taboo themes in music serves as a contrast to music of the past.

An argument could be posed that musically, we live in a ‘post-innovative’ period.  What does  that big, fancy label mean in simple terms? It means that at least a majority of new musical ideas have already occurred and now music is basically in a period of recycling trends.  A generalization? To an extent, BUT after centuries of gargantuan innovation in music, it is certainly hard to invent something that somebody else hasn’t already done before.  I have a rebuttal to the argument though.

Kanye West Was Replaced By Boston Bomber On Rolling Stone Cover

Kanye West Was Replaced By Boston Bomber On Rolling Stone Cover

Kanye West could be one reason why Rolling Stone is getting so much flak for their cover featuring Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
Gawker cites a "reliable" source that Kanye was the first choice for their August cover to advertise an interview about his new album Yeezus. However, West dropped the interview for some reason, so Rolling Stone had to come up with another eye-grabbing cover.
A digital photo of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was used, creating a furious reply across America. Thousands have called for a boycott, while some stores refused to order and stock the magazine. Jack Osbourne joined a petition asking the magazine to donate all of the profits from the issue to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.
Of course, Kanye probably didn't suggest the cover replacement - but if he went through with the story as intended, Rolling Stone wouldn't be in so much hot water.

Jared Leto Confesses He Considered Becoming a Drug Dealer

Jared Leto Confesses He Considered Becoming a Drug Dealer

Jared Leto
One of Jared Leto's most memorable big-screen roles was playing a heroin addict in Darren Aronofsky's Requiem for a Dream.
But if you ask the 41-year-old actor and 30 Seconds to Mars frontman, he could easily have ended up on the wrong side of the tracks and in the drug underworld for real.
Writing a "Letter to My Younger Self" for the UK publication, The Big Issue, Leto talks about how his "turbulent" teenage years were marked by copious amounts of drug-taking and law-breaking.
He also reveals that his penchant for bucking authority caused him a "lot of pain and uncertainty" that easily could have to led an alternate and more hazardous career.

"I was at a crossroads in life when I was 16," he tells the magazine. "I was taking a look at my opportunities and what I'd do with my life and how I'd go about it. I didn't know I was going to be an actor. I thought it might be an artist or a painter. Or maybe a drug dealer. But I didn't know which path I would take. It's just fortunate that I chose one over the other."
Of course, as fans of the actor know, he chose wisely. Trading in his role as instigator of teen drama, he portrayed it on the small screen instead after he was cast on the acclaimed teen soap My So-Called Life, which gave him entry into show business.
That was a far cry, he notes, for a kid who could've easily ended up in jail.
"If I met the teenage Jared now the first thing I'd notice would probably be that my wallet was missing. He had a pretty tough exterior, it would be hard to crack. I was in trouble quite a bit with the authorities, any person who made rules or the law," Leto says.

Aside from Requiem, Jared has since racked up notable performances in such movies as Prefontaine and Girl Interrupted, as well as cult classics like Fight Club andAmerican Psycho. And when he's not acting, he and his Mars bandmates are putting out a steady stream of albums and touring.
But he acknowledged that his tumultuous upbringing, including a stint dropping out of school, had a big impact on him.
"When you're younger you don't have the tools, you just don't know how to cope with those challenges. Probably a lot of my behavior was related to doing drugs," he admits, adding, "I think everything happens for a reason so its good that I learned the lessons that I had to learn. But there was a lot of pain and uncertainty and that's not always fun."

Kroy Biermann: Why I Adopted Kim Zolciak's Kids

Kroy Biermann: Why I Adopted Kim Zolciak's Kids

Video Thumbnail: Why Kroy Biermann Adopted Kim Zolciak’s KidsThe NFL player explains why he officially adopted his wife’s two daughters. Hear why “Don’t Be Tardy” star Kim couldn’t do the same!

It's not easy being a dad, and no one knows this better than Kroy Biermann
The NFL athlete wed Bravo reality star Kim Zolciak in November 2011 and later adopted her two daughters from previous relationships, Brielle, 16, and Ariana, 12.
Shortly after their I-Do's, the Atlanta couple welcomed their third child, Kroy Jr., and just 14-months later, Kim gave birth to the twosome's second son, Kash Kade.
And now, after nearly three years together, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star is pregnant with the pair's fifth child, and the expectant parents sat down with E! News to dish on their loving relationship as well as their wonderful (and hectic!) family life.
NEWS: Kim Zolciaks confirms she's pregnant with fifth child

While Kim admits she was immediatelly attracted to her hunky hubby's appearance, the blond beauty says she wasn't looking for a relationship when the two first crossed paths.
"He was just so sweet. When I saw his butt, I have never in my life seen a butt like that," Kim confesses, shamelessly confirming she calls her man "tightass." "But again I didn't really think anything. I just thought, ‘Wow he's got a really cute butt and a million-dollar smile.' I love big wide smiles. His energy was great, but 'OK, I'm filming, I'm working, I gotta go' and that was my mindset."
The 35-year-old star also says she had come to terms with never marrying again and was entirely content with her two girls when she met Kroy at a charity event.

"I wasn't really looking for a relationship. I had my daughters, and so if I never got married and didn't have any more kids I was kind of OK," she says. "It wasn't like I was out there going, ‘Oh my god, my time clock's ticking, I gotta have children and I gotta do this.' I didn't have that."
But Kim couldn't escape the Atlanta Falcons footballer's affection, and the relationship rapidly took a serious turn after Zolciak's daughters approved of Kroy "almost immediately."
"My daughters are very smart…I didn't bring everyone around them," the pregnant star explains. "I didn't date a whole lot of people. The relationships I had were long-term, but sometimes my daughters would notice that the person I was dating, they were doing things to kind of win my daughters' over to get to the mom—it wasn't genuine. And my girls can see right through that crap. So with Kroy, it was just real…It worked from the very very beginning."
Too sweet! So why did Kroy decide to adopt Kim's two girls?
PHOTOS: Find out what your favorite Real Housewives are up to now
"In order to keep balance you have to have priorities," Biermann explains. "Our careers are our priorities, our kids, our health, our happiness…Before Kim and before the girls and before the boys, I lived a pretty regimented life. I'd wake up, eat breakfast, go to work, come home…it was pretty normal. Now, my house isn't going to be as clean as it was before, but it's not important. Those things are not important and it's all about prioritizing and understanding."
And while Kim couldn't be happier that her girls now have a permanent father figure, the proud mama admits she's not sure if she could step in to Kroy's shoes.
"I don't know if I could love anybody else's children as much as Kroy loves the girls," Kim says. "I just don't know if I have it in me."
We're sure the couple's four (and soon to be five!) kids feel lucky to have two loving parents

Remember those grainy Instagram shots of supermodel Karlie Kloss and Daft Punk that did the rounds last month? Well, now we know just what the music duo and model-of-the-moment were up to
It was not, as rumoured, a video shoot for their next single, or indeed an ad campaign; it was in fact a fashion shoot for US Vogue .

The helmeted men-of-the-moment can be seen on the pages of the August issue of the fashion bible in an editorial dedicated to 'Inspired New Eveningwear'.
Admittedly, Kloss does most of the work in pieces by Chloé, McQueen, Givenchy, and Gucci, while the Daft Punk Boys frame her in their signature Hedi Slimane for Saint Laurent suits (Slimane has created all of their outfits since they first met over a decade ago) and silver and gold helmets and gloves.

In the short accompanying interview, the French musicians - Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo - reveal that Slimane was one of the first people to hear their number one album, Random Access Memories.
It's fair to say that Slimane's touch has made them a whole lot cooler in the fashion stakes, proof of which can be found in Daft Punk's pre-Slimane 2001 Gap commercial…

Gabby Logan: 'I used to wear quite short skirts'

Television presenter Gabby Logan has admitted she may have got her first big break in sport thanks to her dress sense, as she discloses she was sent out to interview footballers wearing “quite short skirts”.

Logan, a sports presenter who has moved into entertainment broadcasting, disclosed she was unexpectedly sent to St James’ Park after her boss speculated she might catch the attention of players.
Claiming she initially “didn’t understand why”, she has now confessed she did “used to wear quite short skirts” which encouraged good-natured teasing from the footballers she was interviewing.
She told this week’s Radio Times magazine she got her first big break six months into a job at Metro Radio in the mid 1990s, after being sent to interview players at Newcastle United’s home ground.
“I didn’t understand why, because there was this bloke who was about 65 or 70 who always did them,” she said.
“Then the boss said that maybe if I wore one of my shorter skirts and stood on the touchline they might notice that we wanted an interview.
“I used to wear quite short skirts and they’d say, ‘Oh here comes the girl with the belt on’
She added: “I must say, though, I was always wearing opaque tights.
“If I’d just gone off and slept with the star player, they would have said, ‘See, that’s what happens when girls report on sport.’
“But because I wasn’t interested in dating David Ginola, they were OK about it and gave me more responsibility.”
Logan has since worked for ITV, Sky Sports - becoming Britain’s first mainstream female sports presenter - and covered the London 2012 Olympics for the BBC. She has recently presented ITV’s diving reality show Splash!, and is now the host of BBC One’s new panel show I Love My Country.
Speaking of her early career at the BBC, Logan said a manager had once warned her she was too “glamorous” after wearing high-heeled boots to work.
She said she had argued she had come straight from a radio show, insisting “it’s what I wear”, before arguing it was right for people on primetime television to “look after their appearance”.
“A boss at the BBC once told me that I was too glamorous and pointed to my high-heeled boots,” she said.
“He said: ‘You don’t wear them when you do the dishes, do you?’ Does he want me to look like I’m doing the dishes? I’m not here to look like a housewife. If I’m at home in my pyjamas I want to see something a bit more aspirational on TV. “

Robin Gibb's love child 'left out of his will'

Robin Gibb's love child 'left out of his will'

Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb has left his £26million fortune to his widow and three children, but nothing to his love child who has been cut out of the inheritance, it has been reported.

Robin Gibb
'The Alan Titchmarsh Show' TV Programme, London, Britain - 24 Oct 2011
When Gibb died in May last year after a long battle with colon and liver cancer he left behind his second wife Dwina, 60, their son Robin-John, 28, his two children from his first marriage, Spencer, 41, and Melissa, 39 and his four-year-old daughter, Snow Robin.
He fathered his youngest child with his live-in housekeeper Claire Yang, then 34, in 2009.
But newly released details of his will, seen by the Daily Mail, show she is not accounted for in the document.
It has been previously reported that Gibb had given her £5million before his death aged 62.
The latest revelations follow claims of a feud between Mrs Gibb and Miss Yang, and it was rumoured that despite the fact that the couple had an open relationship his wife of 35 years had prevented his lover and daughter attending his funeral.
Does not include his properties in America or assets already shared jointly with his wife.
The money has been placed in a trust fund, all profits of which will go to his Mrs Gibb until her death. She has also been granted all of his “personal chattels” and the music rights to his share of the royalties from the Bee Gees’ back catalogue.
Spencer and Melissa will each be given £500,000 immediately, the Mail claimed, with the remainder of the estate to be split between them and Robin-John upon Mrs Gibb’s death.
Miss Yang has been granted the £850,000 house in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, which was bought for her by her lover.
The 15-page will is believed to have been drawn up in August 2011, nine months before Gibb’s death.
In the final paragraph, Gibb stated that he was “in the process of making reasonable financial provision for Snow”, asking for his trustees to provide for her if he did not.
The amount bequeathed in his will was significantly lower than his estimated £93million fortune.
Miss Yang has not commented on reports her daughter was given a lump sum, and it is not clear whether she will contest the document on behalf of her daughter.

Oh, and the fact that her parents, Serena Rees and Joe Corré, founded lingerie label Agent Provocateur, her grandmother is Dame Vivienne Westwood and her grandfather is the late Malcolm Maclaren may also have something to do with it.
Having just completed her GCSEs at Bedales, Corré has embarked on her first high-profile modelling job by appearing on the pages of the new issue of LOVE Magazine wearing make-up from Marc Jacobs's new beauty range.
